River loves...

  • Buses. If you know the tune well, you can hear him singing "The Wheels on the Bus" over and over again all day.
  • Cars and trucks. Specifically Mommy and Daddy's cars. He is always pointing them out, digging through his wooden cars for the matching Mommy and Daddy cars, and singing his own song..."Daaddeee.... (car goes) beep, beep, beep..."
  • His sister. "SISSY! SISSY!" I'm sure you've all heard it. If he can't see her, he's looking for her. If she's playing with someone else, he wants to play too. If she's asleep, he wants to wake her up.
  • Books. As soon as we mention reading, he's in his room piling up his "must reads." It's always a very big pile.
  • Cats, Dogs, Owls and Horses. If he's not carrying around his beloved stuffed kitty (Meow) or his stuffed horse (Neigh), then he's crawling around the floor telling us that he's either a "At! (cat)...Meeooowww." or "Daaa! (dog)...wwwoooo, wooo." And we just happen to have this incredibly social neighborhood owl that loves to say hello to us every evening....adding owls to his favorites list.
  • Singing. We listen to music for enjoyment, and use music throughout many of our daily routines and transitions. Music has a strong purpose for our family...it's one of our great joys. And now we have a one year old, singing his heart out!
  • Nature. No hesitation....worms, snakes, bugs, dirt, mud...he's in it, holding it, or chasing it.
  • Accessories. This one probably doesn't need much explanation;)
  • Reprimanding Boston. I've mentioned before that River doesn't quite have the loving relationship with Boston that Maggie has. To River....our dog is all work!
